Common questions
Is CoRent cheaper for hosts than Alcove?
Not on the platform fee. Alcove's homeowner FAQ says there are no fees to the homeowner, because its fees are charged to tenants and/or their employers. CoRent's fee is 5% of rent collected. The real question is the whole picture: what renters pay, who handles marketing and screening, and how much of the work you want to do yourself.
Which one works in Virginia?
CoRent has rooms in Richmond, Petersburg and Colonial Heights. Alcove's site lists no Virginia markets as of October 2026.
Who should pick which?
If you want to run your own house and keep control of who moves in, CoRent is built for that. If you are in one of Alcove's markets and want Alcove to market and tour the house for you, look at Alcove. We suggest you ask both for current terms in writing.
